| Hi all, I have searched the previous posts for any options for a rear luggage rack combined with a rear back rest. I saw several posts, some home made, others that had links that were no longer valid and others that just went to sites where I couldn't find anything usable on the Silver Wing. I don't really want a top box, just a rack with a rear backrest that I can throw a bag on now and then. I would have thought that Honda would have made something, but guess not. Anyone have any options that are readily available without having to build one or majorly modify one meant for another bike? Thanks for your help/ Barry |

| Givi has passenger back rest. Givi rear luggage plate can be used as rear luggage rack, too. |

| I think John's advice is the best way to go. |

| I'd recommend John's suggestion of a Givi rack too. That way if you eventually wanted to install a top box you'd have the rack already installed. A small top box makes an excellent passenger backrest and is really useful. I used mine a lot for my helmet and hauling groceries. The top box stays cooler inside than the underseat area too since there's no engine heat going into it. I put a Coocase top box on my second SW and wired the brake lights to the box's lights with a plug and socket so I could easily remove the box if needed. I don't like a huge box, mine was just big enough for a single helmet. |

| The Givi idea is a good one and if you look on ebay you should be able to find one of the old style top plates that were square. I bought one to use with my Blackbird when I bought a wingrack. Because of the shape it works better than the later Givi oval shaped ones.

| Thanks everyone for the information. I really dont like the way a top box looks on the Scooter but will look into the rack. I had a Honda VTX that had a nice rear backrest with a chrome luggage rack attached and was hoping to find something like that, that gave me room to strap stuff down, but also pleasing to the eye. Thanks again.

| I came across this just now - I guess one could modify it/bolt on a sissy-bar......or something!

| Pricey little gimmick. Looks good but for that price it ought to be chrome plated or powder coated. |

| That rack at the link that MikeO posted looks easy to make yourself. Then you could buy this Givi backrest. |
