Hi, I've not had the problem myself but I've seen it on various forums in regard to numerous different bikes.
The problem often seems to be the positioning of the sensors in relation to the reluctor rings (one on each wheel as you probably know).
They seem to get knocked out of position when wheels are removed or refitted or when a bit of over enthusiastic cleaning/scrubbing is being done.
They can apparently even get 'swamped' by a heavy build up of mud or road crap.

I think I would...
1. Make sure the rings are nice and straight and haven't got bent or bashed, straightening them if they are bent and clean them up if full of muck.
2. Make sure the sensors are clean and in position correctly, close but not touching the rings and not at weird angles etc.
3. Check any connections that go to the sensors.

None of this costs any cash so it's where I'd start.

Although the ABS system is quite complex it does seem to be pretty reliable.
Hopefully someone's just clobbered a ring or sensor when getting a wheel in or out or something similar.

Good luck and please let us know of any findings.

Not sure what your asking. If your question is that your ABS lamp does not go off after you exceed 6MPH, it could be a failing battery. Have your battery load tested at an auto parts store.

Well if you can't sort the abs breaking it for spares is always an option :-)

Agree with Easyrider, a weak battery often can cause ABS self check to fail. I've had the same problem with a BMW K1100LT. The battery was good enough to start the bike but the ABS self test failed due to low battery. The self test is done before the engine starts and the bike's alternator isn't charging. Sometimes you can ride a couple miles, shut off the engine and then restart which will clear the ABS warning until the next time.

If the ground isn't tight on the battery post, all kinds of things can start flashing at you. I have seen it happen.

I had the same problem with a weak battery (that I didn't think was weak at all). ABS lite stayed on after a horrifying jump start (don't ask). Anyway, charged the battery again and the lite went out on the next test run. Funny thing though; it took longer to go out then (battery actually needed replacement).
So... double check that battery or let a battery specialist do it for you. Mine had good enough voltage but the cranking amps were way to low.

Yes, "Easyrider"...
My thoughts too... why is it folks are so lazy and thoughtless to not use even a modicum of proper punctuation and then we have to use our own thought processes to to make up for their lack of effort (if that's possible from what they've tried to put in print)... I realize no one is perfect including myself and I don't want to sound like the literary police, but, please, put at least a "little" thought into your statements...
