Scuffs on your tunnel.

Morning all ,my birthday today 54 years young not old ha.Anyway friend of mine got a little pcx [great scoot]for his 7 mile commute each way. He asked me if there is a way to stop the plastic getting scuffed on the centre tunnel.I said i would ask you gals and guys,maybe some sort of selfadhesive pad like a tank protector.What do you think,anyone came across this problem before

I use Honda's clear adhesive film, it lasts for a reasonable length of time (until it peels off!) and is fairly flexible.  But I'm sure there are better answers out there he said with bated breath.

I use AutoGlym bumper care to clean off the scuffs. Works for me! Not the cheapest, but goes a long way.
I do all the black plastics with it, keeps it looking tidy. Just apply with a soft cloth, and polish off. Simples! I also do the drive cover, then give it a quick wax.

I use the Honda spray cleaner. Works well on the painted Tupperware and the black plastic.

Simple=keep your feet off it. WD40 works to a degree, Pledge does to, Products designed to keep plastic bumpers black

Might be like me and suffer from lowslungarseitis!

My mate probably could figure it out, but friends try too help out when they can with things.Thats what friends do.

Before online forums came along you had to figure a lot out for yourself, do the leg work, and find out stuff from a stash of magazines, books, maps, manuals, guides, and maps, or by experience or just plain trial or error. Nowadays you don't have to, you just sit on your butt in front of a keyboard and ask the simplest dumb a** question and be almost certain someone will reply.

You can now tell your mate about the various aerosol remedies he can try to remove the scuff marks, and he'll think you're a good bloke, but you got others to do the leg work for you. That's the way it works nowadays.  

I just don't worry about scuffs , if I ride the wing, they're going to be there because of my
big feet and relative lack of agility .

My Morphous has very little room between the glovebox and the seat and I scuff it most every time I mount or dismount. I try to keep up with keeping them cleaned up but it is not on the top of my list.

I don't get too worried about scuffs, I bought the scoot as I can no longer 'straddle' a bike and so I accept the marks in return for the 'step through' convenience.

What's the next simple cleaning conundrum we need a topic and the combined brain power of a forum to solve for someone? How to remove crumbs from inside a top box?

As it goes I have got some flakes of dried onion skin in mine from a trip to the farmers market,thought I might leave them there to fend off the moths though,so no need to start a new thread,just saying

+1 That's just how I feel.

You can be as proud as you like of your scuffs and scratches until you try to sell or trade it in, then they'll be used as an excuse to give you less cash than you might have expected.

I've seen a couple of guys scrape and grind down the knee sliders/pucks off their leathers with tools to give the impression they were better riders than they were, and their bikes were 'being used not just looked at'.  

I have found a sneaky way to make my scooter look used. I ride it a lot and you can look at the odometer and see it has 46,924 miles on it. As for the resale of it I will keep it until I need to get a replacement for it. Then I will probably keep what I have left for parts as it will not be worth much to anyone by the time I'm done with it.
Oh yes My scooter has scuffs on the tunnel.

I choose 'riding' over 'polishing' any time; however, I do admire others who manage to keep their scoot looking great!

We have a local bike show two times a week and a man will detail your scooter for $30.00. My local scooter shop has a man that will detail your scooter for $5.00. I have used both of them one time each. I have came to the same conclusion as Dimond. My scooter looks just as good to me when I am sitting on it dirty or clean as long as I clean the windshield.
