If you are going to make a "Perfect Connector"-type connection I do hope that you are able to follow the Honda wire color codes in that location. If you recall, the 'original' version color codes were not consistent with Hondas and tended to cause some deal of confusion --even though a nice illustration came with the product.

Yeah, that'll be a big help for anyone wishing to use that Connection for aux circuits.

May even be a good spot to add on the $5 Hazard Lights components. Rather than splice the wire harness elsewhere.

Using that connector you could wire in a switch as well as the side-stand switch so the sidestand would act as normal, the switch would act when switched to the relevant position so you could run the engine with the side-stand down plus the switch could act as an immobiliser. I feel a mini project coming on!

That is an excellent idea!!

A three-way position switch

1) Normal mode
2) Engine running with side-stand down
3) Immoblize mode (regardless of side-stand up or down )

That would be worth buying.

Not a three way position switch but utilising two switches.

When I have figured it out correctly in my head and done the work i'll post a how-to / how I did it on here.

Connector ordered, switch in stock, one already on the scoot.

That will work.

First switch
1a) Normal straight through to switch two
1b) Immobilizer mode

Second switch

2a) Normal behavior - Only starts with kickstand down
2b) Disable "normal behavior" - Starts with kickstand down *** At your own risk **

I would buy the "first switch" setup!!!!

Its too easy for someone to blip the throttle, they would not release that the bike could lurch forward knocking it off the side stand and theres your pride n' joy on the floor Just ride the bike easier until it warms up, you will save fuel too!

If you must, maybe a micro switch could be fitted to the throttle which would cut the engine should someone twist it when the side side was down...

My thinking is having another switch so that you can have the engine running whilst the sidestand is down when you need it to be. Having a switched circuit means that under normal circumstances (when you don't need to have the engine running with the sidestand down) you can disable the facility. No chance to idiot blipping the throttle.
Going to be a bit busy this weekend stripping the inner front wheel arch on one of the cars in order to get to the washer reservoir and pump - MOT test next Thursday.
I may get around to playing with this setup for the Silverwing, it will be a temporary rig up to see if what is in my head actually works - not always successful transferring theory to practice!
