Hey there fellow Swing riders. Life long Honda geek here from Wisconsin. "He who dies with the most Honda products wins" is my mentality. I've owned my Swing for 3 years now and have used this site for ideas and advice, but just never posted pics or introduced myself. My name is Geoffrey, I'm 35 and love to ride/drive any and all things japanese, but mostly Honda. I've done a few mods to my Swing including: k&n filter(s), E3 plugs, Givi windshield, Dr pulley rollers, PIAA headlight bulbs, All Royal Purple fluids, Michelin pilot pure tires, Renthal grips, Throttlemeister cruise control heavy bar ends, Shark stereo, shaved reflectors and license bracket, shaved emblems. I ordered and received the Honda leg deflectors from the UK, but haven't installed them yet. Powdercoated items include: bar ends, levers, passenger pegs and brackets, rear rack, exhaust protector, front fork legs, wheels. Kevlar bedliner on belly pan. Painted exhaust trim piece a textured satin black. Body panels have been painted a grand prix white from a '93 Acura NSX. I bought my '07 in 2010 with 2,000 miles on it and it now has almost 10,000. I love the Swing, plan to buy a few more for my friends and lady to ride, and plan to ride the wheels off of them. I attached a pic of one of my other two wheeled toys as well. Cheers. Enjoy the summer guys.

Welcome from a fellow Wisconsinite. Your wing looks pretty unique with the mods you've done. Kinda like the blacked out look on certain parts. Had my 02 since 2005 and have around 30,000 on it now. Looking at possibly getting a dct vfr1200f or one of the new dct ctx700d as something different. Awesome scoot, just getting bored with it.

I'm assuming he is saying it like he stripped them off the bike, removed them.

Thanks for the comments guys. I too, am waiting for the next big thing from mother Honda. I hope for a new Swing or some more dct cycle/scoot hybrid ideas. "Shaving" is just an old hot rod term for removing and making smooth.

Welcome! Thanks for the last post. I am familiar with 'frenching', 'shaving' was new to me (even at my age!)

I'm curious about how much the powder coating cost--especially the wheels & forks.

Did you disassemble the forks to powder coat?

Tim

Everything requires complete disassembly for powder. I think i ended up having a couple hundred in powder by the time I was done. I will also do the swingarm this winter. If mine had been silver, I wouldn't have painted it, but i had the darker silver that looked purple sometimes. It was awful. Factory service manual has definitely come in handy. Here's a pic before paint and powder.
