| 'Wing' went in for it's 12k service this morning. The service manager has phoned to say it's ready but wants to chat with me about something he found!! He wouldn't go into detail but asked what, if anything I used on the engine after cleaning. He intimated something sticking!!!! I now have a whole night to think!!!! I'll find out tomorrow lunchtime when I collect. What can stick regards the external side of the engine? |

| Doug, Must be bad if he couldn't tell you over the phone!
Something sticking? Tell him to 'Stick his bill up his a**e'.
Cheers, |

| Engine!! Ha! It was a sticking hand brake!!! No drama's at all. I never use it, so it therefor seized. Tyre replaced, brake fluid changed, filters changed - they needed it evidently!!! Rode home in torrential rain! Which leads me on to a good moan!! The weather forecast stated 17% chance of rain for my area. Yet it has rained 100% of the time since I arose this morning!!!! Do meteorologists use a different form of mathematics than the rest of us? |

| Best forecast you can give is "There is a fifty percent chance of rain."
Meaning it will either rain or it wont.

The weather forecast stated 17% chance of rain for my area. Yet it has rained 100% of the time since I arose this morning!!!! Do meteorologists use a different form of mathematics than the rest of us? < In realspeak that'd mean; In 17% of the area it will be raining all of the time. |

In realspeak that'd mean; In 17% of the area it will be raining all of the time. Thanks for that. It also explains why the rain in Spain does stay mainly on the plain!!!! |

| How much did this cost you Waspie?.I know your bike's under warranty, but, i never let anyone touch my bike. Air filter was £24. Oil filter i paid £8. I use Halfords Semi -Synthetic 10/40's £26 for 5litres=2 oil changes. The new rear tyre( i took the wheel off and they put new tyre, valve and balanced the wheel) £65. A can of brake fluid (DOT4)500mls£2. |

| Looking at the prices you quoted I didn't fair too badly!!! But as per, it was the labour that was the stinger. That is the down side with keeping a warranty. At the moment I'm working so finances ain't too bad. Give it a few years and retirement - well!! That will be another story. My one saving grace is I have a semi engineering background, albeit aviation. But a nut and bolt is a nut and bolt. |
