Hi,

Well, I finally sat on the new Honda NT700 today and really liked it. It seemed to fit and was comfortable and seems like a very nice bike. I think risers on the handlebars would be all I would want but it looked like a great bike. The fit and finish looked great, it was a silver one with ABS, and didn't seem heavy at all. I don't have any plans to buy one now but maybe one day. It is the only other bike that grabs my interest. But I love the SWing and not having to shift.

I know I would need a taller shield and the larger panniers since I wouldn't want a top case on it. But like I said, I'm not in the market now or even in the very near future. But it felt really nice to me.

What is the size of the stock panniers and the larger panniers?

Bill,

I found this on the www.deauvilleuk.org site:

http://ww1.honda.co.uk/mcstatic/en/product/accessoriesPDF/2009Range/NT700VDeauville.pdf

You can scroll down a bit to check out all of the accessories, including the panniers. It says you can put a full face helmet in each of the cases, if I read it correctly.

Jeff,

My riding mate, Cliff, has a Deauville (or NT700) and we have been on several trips together. He has fitted handlebar risers and finds that more comfortable. He also looked getting the larger pannier covers (a genuine Honda accessory) but was put off by the AUD900 price tag.

The picture was taken earlier this year when I still had the Honda Hornet.

I find the performance of the Deauville and the SilverWing quite similar. Cliff rides a bit harder than me but generally the two bikes are similar. However, he has to take a tank bag to match the luggage carrying capacity of the SilverWing.

Regards,
Peter
