PostSubject: OEM roller size when new   OEM roller size when new I_icon_minitimeMon Nov 27, 2017 7:26 am

Hi
Would anyone be able to tell me the diameter of new standard rollers.
I have to change my belt today, and have measured the rollers which I have taken out. They all measure 28mm - 28.2mm. The service limit is 27.5mm.
I was just trying to ascertain how much has been worn away comparing this with the size of new rollers.
I only intend to fit standard stock rollers back into the bike.
Thanks Codge.

Wear on the rollers will show up as a flat spot. Usually the flat spot is visible, but it is also easily determined by rolling (using gentle fingure pressure) the roller over a clean flat surface. You'll feel the flat spot that way.

My rollers have no flat spots at 16,500 miles. They are only 0.5mm larger than the service limit. I'm going to replace them this week. With such a small tollerance left on them I thought this would be the best way as Ive got it all striped down for a belt change.
£66.00 for the set stings a bit.

I'm hoping the outer driven plate has no particular place to be repositioned on the drive shaft. I suppose its balanced but cant see any line up markings.
Thanks guys for your help

Codge FWIW anytime I get into anything new to me I use a Sharpie pen or white china marker to make orientation marks just in case it has a need to be placed back in an exact location. I use the same to note the date work was done just in case the paper trail goes Hansel and Gretel Smile

I replaced my stock rollers at about 14K with 28g DR sliders. The stock rollers were fine, with no flat spots, most likely I could have left them in until 30K or so... The DR units are quite a bit more expensive than OEM Honda ones; since I use the stock weight, not sure I would spring for the DR units again... My two cents.

i replaced rollers with OE ones at 16000 miles, they were the same as the ones taken out, the bike run the same after the belt change ie 60 mph at 4,500rpm IIRC. So for me it was done as a learning curve and peace of mind, but in future I will be doing an annual check. The belt and rollers cost is high but being in the Honda Owners club and getting 10% discount helps keep the cost of parts down. I have 3 Honda's to service so the membership fee of the club keeps down the costs.
