I have one of these, and it works pretty well. Uses total of 8 AA batteries. I use rechargeables and they run for about 3 hours.
I paid $20, they're now on sale for $10. A great deal IMHO.

Matthew,

I bought one of these 2-3 years ago and I really like it. I have even worn it for these other than riding. I have 2 sets of batteries and it does great. But then it doesn't get really cold out here. The coldest I have used it in was only 38 degrees and it did great. But for those that get one you need to wear it over a shirt and not a tshirt. When I wore it over a tshirt it got hot against my skin.

But they work great and for those in cold weather that go to football games it would be great too. You can't beat this price that is for sure. Thanks for the post. I made a post for this vest on a few sites the last couple of winters for others too.

Only problem is they don't make them big enough I need at least a 4x or 62 depending on how they size them.

I have to locate one of those battery operated vests. I currently use those plastic packets that you rip open to take out a heavy paper packet that gives off heat. I put it in the pockets of a net vest that goes over a shirt and under a coat. If they say '6 hours' they last for 6 hours; if they say '12 hours' they last for 12 hours. Now if I just could find a hot torch blaster to melt the ice that will soon be all over the roads here in northern Michigan.....

Sounds like even with twelve hours of heat you'll be laying up for some months to come a-way up there. Hope you have some good books to read.
