power commander III questions

Hi all, I have an ,03 Silverwing with only 2600 miles on it.

All stock except for uni filter. I Have ordered some 28gr. sliders from scootertrap.

I have read all the topics on the PC on this forum with keen interest.

1. It was mentioned of a dyno chart in one and I could not find it?
is it here somewhere?

2. Which map are you all running in the PC?

3.When dynoing , with a cat in OEM muffler how do you get a true a/f ratio ? did you put a bung in front of the muffler?

I am really thinking about getting a PC for the scoot. Where to get one, is it preloaded with a map or do you put your own in?

The PC can be purchased and installed at most motorcycle shops. You can download a map directly from dynojet, which makes the PC.
However, for your bike to have the best performance, you need to have a custom-made map specifically for your bike. Check the dynojet website for a dynojet facility near you. Or if you have a large motorcycle rally, anywhere nearby, there is usually somebody with a dynojet built into a trailer.

I installed my own PC and it only took about 30mins and was very easy. I just took the seat off to have more room to work, and it made it easier too. I installed the European map from DYNO-JET and then also installed a custom map from a member on this site. They both work good and I think it was money well spent. Here is where I bought mine and it is about $100 cheaper than at the dyno-jet site.

Dyno-jet provides some exellent pictures on how to install it, but it is very simple to do.

I believe it was lost in the server migration. When I have time ... I will locate and repost.

That put a flexible sniffer tube deep into the muffler (I do not know if it is called a bung) AND we opened the spark plug access and he clamped the recirculating air with a locking pliers to get a true reading.

I just ordered one today. Local shop came within $10 of price of place you gave. Need to help the locals sometimes. payed $275 incl. tax.

I don't know which program it will have in it, I guess I can look at it on the PC before I mount it.

Also the closest Dyno shop is 175 miles away. So, not gonna happen.

Also ordered sliders , 28 gr. from scootertrap.
Was not impressed with Mallossi belt on the reflex (worn out at 4k miles), so OEM from now on.

I was greatly disappointed with MPG on the original map loaded in the Power Commander.

I then switched to the European one ... what a difference.

Then I had a custom map created.

175 miles is less than a 3 hour ride (2 hours 10 minutes the way I ride).
Get up early on a Saturday morning. You should have the road to yourself.
You'll be riding back with a brand new map, and what feels like a new bike.

Was going to hook up the PCIII today but whe I tried to load the maps i was unable. I went to the power commander site and downloaded the five maps they provider, but when I tried to load them to the unit it wouldn't recognize the files. Is there a trick loading them that isn't in the instructions?
