Hi and hello,
I'm from western Massachusetts and am a new (well used) Swing owner. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with this group as it seems to have a lot to offer.

Tnx,
Norm

welcome  Norm welcome to the best Silverwing forum on the web. I have to ask are you saying your new Silverwing is well used or are you saying that you(Swing owner) are well used. Razz What year is your "new" Silverwing and how many miles has it got on it? And as Tim said I hope you get a riding season and you don't have to wait too much longer for it to began. Rolling Eyes
If you are looking forward to learning and plan on doing your own maintenance you'll find you can do anything you need or want with the service manual and help from this forum.
I add the paragraph below for most new members because there's a lot of information in the links and may save you some work.
Here are some links(3 below in blue)that will help you learn a lot about your Silverwing. If you can't find what you need in the links below the search on this forum works good, and if you still need help just ask and someone will do what they can to answer your questions.

Hi Tim and Roger,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I should have put a comma or ellipsis after the "well" and before the "used". My Swing is a 2002 with about 26,000 miles on it. It seems to have been well taken care of by the husband of the former owner. (He has a large BMW and the Swing was his wife's ride. She started to have some physical issues and decided it was best to not ride anymore. A decision we will all have to make someday.)

Thank you for the links. I actually need to go back in and thank the forum member who posted the pix of how to install a Givi rear seat backrest. My Swing had one installed and I've been trying figure out how to install a Givi topcase after I figured out how to get the back rest off. The pix were perfect. The scoot did come with a service manual, but darned if I could find the details of how to get that spoiler apart.

Best to all,
Norm Michaels

Forgive me if I've misunderstood your post but you can mount both Givi separate backrest and top-box together.
My regular pillion passenger reckoned the separate backrest was infinitely more comfortable than one mounted on the box, mostly because it was lower.

Hi Mike,
Would you happen to have a pix of them both mounted. It just looked to me that there wasn't enough room for a secure mounting of the case base and the seat back. Do you use the same holes..... seat back plate on the spoiler and the case plate on top of that or separate holes?

I believe he has a picture in his album. His album is on the third page of users albums. I hope this helps until he gets back to you (and he will) on your other questions. One caveat; those albums may give you many other ideas. Laughing

Sorry chaps - been out all day.

Thanks, Hi Yo; yes, there are a couple of pictures showing what's needed.
Both backrest and Givi mount use the front two holes in the spoiler, the ones shown in the 'How To Mount The Backrest' pictorial which, incidentally, I followed very closely and made the job so easy.
I can't remember now but I think I mounted the backrest on top of the topbox mount - I think you'll see it's obvious but I doubt it matters a great deal.

Hope this helps.

Hi Norm,

I am from central MA and ride out west and north 80% of the time. Hopefully we can connect and you can show me some of your favorite roads! Are you east or west of 91?
