2003 Silverwing full tank flashing E and won't start

Hello all. I just brought this beauty back from the dead, the previous owner had let her sit for 2 years in the elements and removed nearly all of the plastic to put on a newer one he wrecked. I had her running well and drove her around the block before installing the dashboard (which is the original). Once I put the dash together she ran for about 10 minutes and then died. The fuel guage was flashing E and i quickly assesed the fuel pump function (which I had already replaced). The fuel injectors are getting 12V and I have a full tank of gas but the guage still reads E. Can anyone help diagnose this? It sounds like a bac\d sensor but I am unsure of t\where to locate and test this on the bike. Any advise would be appreciated!
