It is winter time here and I still get to ride. Wow!! My SW and I rode today-just to the post office and back (an 8 mile round trip). Us country folks have it made-we have to go 4 miles one way to get the mail but the SW does well!

Katie in AR (who wanted to brag about the beautiful weather before it changes) I love you

Katie,

I thought that Arkansas was far enough south to ride just about all year. I lived in Illinois before coming out to California and I rode most of the year, but then I was young and not too smart, but just thought that it didn't get too cold where you are. Do you get much snow or extreme cold out there?

The weather goes up and down. We don't really get a lot of snow. Last March (2008), we had 11 inches of snow one day, 70 degree weather the next, followed by another 9 inches of snow. It is just weird. Some years, I've been able to ride all year. But this year, we had ice and the roads were bad for about a week. It has been pretty rainy lately too.
