[quote="sctr199"]Hi everyone,

Would love to put Fehling crash bars on it, but have been unable to find a source.

Are there other sources for crash bars that do protect the Swing?

Twistedthrottle.com carries the brand.
I have a feeling shipping to Hawaii is going to be expensive though.
Keep in mind that "Crash bars" usually mount to a metal frame for instance.
I think that some of the fehling products are more surface mount.
So they will help you avoid scuffs and such, but not do much to save the bike or you in an accident.

Under the circumstances I would suggest maybe focusing on cutting down the center stand so you get a 4 point stance or adding a half inch to the foot of the side stand so the bike leans less.

These are more likely to keep it from falling over. Also crash bars increase bike width, not great in traffic.

Dan

Currently we seem to have two threads discussing the same subject; here is my reply on the other:-

I ordered my Fehlings bling (for my X9) direct from Fehlings and yes, "Hi Yo" is correct in saying the bars are more cosmetic than protective.

I must add that the chrome-plating is not as good as it was in the past and the bars have a tendency to rust at the joints. I smeared Vaseline on them - it was satisfactory.
:-)

I suggest that further discussions about Fehlings Bling are confined to this one. Wink
