Tonight when we got back to our motel in Rapid City, SD a 2012 BMW R1200RT with an Australian licence plate pulled in riding two up. Long way from home. I can't imagine what it costs to ship a blke here. Then again maybe they relocated to the states. Didn't get to talk to them. Nice bike though.

Ask if they know Kurt. They're both from that same little island. :lol!:

Check to see if its wearing a Ulysses Club sticker or badge Cathy, we are all over the place.
My avatar is my home town Branch, but if youopen this you will see what to look for... we call him the "old man". If you see it then you have an open invitation to talk with them.

Kurt,

He is not a member of the Ulysses Club. Knows of it though. Still struggling with joining doesn't want to admit he falls into the age group.

Nice couple met them on the pool deck having breakfast. They are from Victoria sixty miles south of Melbourne. The bike is a 2007. They shipped it because they are here for a 10 week holiday as you Aussie's refer to call it. We call it vacation.

They are touring the western states. Rapid City, SD is about as far east as they will come. They are half way through their holiday. They will be going up to British Columbia for a bit as well.

They initiated the conversation by asking if we had the BMW and the scooter. He didn't think they had the Swing in OZ. But I told him they do.
because I knew you. His wife was interested in my Swing and thought that might be a better fit for her. She has a Yamaha 600 or something but doesn't take it out much.

Well Kurt that's what I found out. Enjoyed talking with them. Very nice couple. I can't say I have ever met anyone I didn't like from OZ. Smile

Wow, is that all, I feel like I know them now. Thanks Cathy.

Its always nice to see how far us Aussies like to go.

Eventually they will join the Club.
