Hey guys, Richooker again. Finally able to get back to work on my SWing. I had some surgery in April that took a bit longer to recover from than I expected. Anyhow my 2003 600 has a battery that holds voltage after trickle charging. When running on centerstand the voltage drops to the specs that I was advised on in April. The voltage doesn't increase at all at 4K rpm. I've indentified the rectifier on under left panel in the area of the battery. There doesn't appear to be any type of visual problem in the area. I certainly would like some suggestions from you guys. I've been running for basics at the grocery but need to get this up and do some serious touring withmy new bike. Please give me some of that experience you all have built up.
Rick

Well I am in possesion of a new meter and getting ready to remove the front cover for inspection and testing of the rectifier/regulator. I couldn't imagine the rectifier not getting air flow as I thought in previous post. After inspection I'll check resistance in charging coil (alternator side) and the charging side of the rectifier/regulator. Then move to continuity testing on the rectifier/regulator. Should narrow it down then.

Newby,

Richooker
