Sad I've got a 2003 that runs great, but has a loud rattle in the area arond the locking glove box (on the left side of the faring). It rattles very loud under acceleration. I can't hardly hear the bike. looked around but really did not see much. It rattles lightly at an idle and it shops if I push down on the glove compartment door. Anyone had an issue with this before and if so, what did you do?

Hi "mjandreola",
I'm not sure about yours but I dropped my SWing on its left side one time (well, actually a couple of times, but that's another story). Anyway, where the furtherest most rearward (that's my own English) sculpted curve on the LH fairing (just next to the LH glovebox) is, there is suppose to be one of those infamous "tabs" inside there that helps hold that curvature in place. Mine got broken off and now provides a bit of fine-tuned vibra rattle every now and then.
Still, yours might be as simple as installing a small perimeter of sponge rubber around the box top to take up on some slack there. There'll be some other good suggestions following mine; that's for sure. Good Luck!

well you were right. I took a folded piece of paper and jambed it between the opening between the outside faring and the top where the glove box is. Vwalla! no noise. now I just got to come up with a more permanent fix that does not involve taking the think apart. I'm thinking of just driving a sheetmetal screw down into the gap. it certainly should keep everything from vibrating and I guess wont look as bad as a wad of paper sticking up out of it. Thanks for your help.

Or squeezing some black silicone sealant into the problem area and then wiping away the excess sealant. When it cures and dries it should stop the rattling.

I have.... had several rattle on the fron of my swing, worse was around the screen at the base. I used hot glue to stop that rattle! Smile
