DR Pulley Sliders

Hi All,
Didn't want to hijack the other thread so jumped over here. I have noticed on some previous slider discussions that the sliders had sometimes been combined for different results, ie, half 28g and half 22g, or something similiar. Does this work?? Also, does this not cause a "funny" or different wear pattern than normal? Reason for asking is that practically all those who have installed the sliders have had very good results so figured I'd give it a try. Thanks for any info.

Dick, you will be very pleased with the results. I mix the 28g x 22g and what you eliminate is the mid-band lag between 35-45 mph. It is one smooth pull across the middle power band. Take-offs are a little more thrilling as well. You will sacrifice a little top end speed, but the mid-band performance out weighs any top end loss for me. As far as your concern about abnormal wear in the variator there is none. Some of us use dry lube, some do not your preference.

Well, I received my 26g Dr Pully Sliders in the mail this morning, went golfing then came home and put the sliders in. I am very pleased with everything. Rode it about 20 miles round trip up to 90 indicated. Seems to pull about 500 rpm less as near as I can tell. Tomorrow is supposed to be near 60 degrees so we are planning a 125 mile trip will see if my gas mileage improves hopefully it will. I was down to about 43 mpg. Also miked all of the parts and were fine. Changed the final drive oil again since I had it down. It really wasn't all that bad. Will let you know how everything goes tomorrow mileage performance etc.

Thanks for all the responses. I believe this is going to be my next major step. Was toying with the thought of mixing 26g and 22g or just go with the 26's. Will let you know. Thanks again.
