i got a 2007 silverwing 600a and i have started to notice the rpm seems higher at 70 mph now i am wondering if the drive belt will wear down enough to do this i got the unit when it had 8000 miles and in 6 months i now have 33,000 miles i am doing oil changes every 4000 miles using Mobil 1 full synthetic oil i drive apx 120 miles a day every day and more on the week ends my daily commute is a long way and i think the bike is going the be a Constance maintenance issue but i do enjoy it

Not to be smug, but the specs for your belt are: At 30,000 miles it's time for a new belt.

The part # for the belt is 23100-MCT-003, and usually lists for about $145. But check with DirectLineParts.com and you can get it for $108.00 + $7.50 flat rate shipping.

ServiceHonda.com is also a good source for discounted Honda OEM parts.

You might also want to check eBay for a Service Manual.

you could also change the oil every 8k miles and save some $ to pay for the belt that should be changed every 16k

ELS: belated reply to your question, but the rpm's will increase just a little because the variator face plates wear where the belt runs the most, and also as the belt wears a bit.

What you asked and never got a reply to was what are the specs of a belt: that would be the nominal width.

I don't know but would also like to. If the specs are still good, and a visual inspection of the the belt doesn't show any aging, or minute cracking, then I'd continue to run the belt, unless the scoot is your primary transportation, then I think I'd go ahead and replace the belt while you have the CVT covers off and not have to go thru that again.

According to my Helm ("official Honda") service manual, the standard (new) drive belt width is 28.0mm (1.10"); the service limit is 27.0mm (1.06"). The V light comes on at 16K -- 30K is really pushing it.
