Hi,

I just bought this item yesterday at the motorcycle shop and used it today for the first time. Since it was sunny out at times it turned out to be very useful and well worth the money. It is called the "Sundowner" and it is a strip of plastic that helps block the sun and glare. But what I found out is that it helps block the glare and the "brightness" of the sun. It seems I won't need to wear sun glasses anymore as long as i wear my helmet with a shield.

When you position this you are not to use this item like sunglasses but place it towards the top so it screens the brightness or glare from you. Since it is about 2" from your face it is kind of like the brill of a hat that keeps the sun out of your eyes.

There are a few things that are really nice about this:

1) The price was only about $5.
2) It works very well if placed properly.
3) It can be re-postioned and also transferred from one helmet to another.

Here is a picture of the item and a picture of the "Tag".

Quite a few of the "flip-front" helmets have retractable glare sheilds incorporated inside the main visor. I have been using a Caberg Justissmo for som years now and find the glare sheild invaluable.

That is a nice product.....good find. I was wondering if a person could install it on the inside of the shield so the wind will not claim it.

According to the description on this Site, it can be attached on the inside or outside of the shield.

It is a good product and it is so cheap. I would think you can install it inside the shield since it is the same material inside and outside. I would also like one of the fancy helmets that have the smaller shield inside that can be put down for a sunscreen but I like the helmet I have now and this thing works very well.
