Welcome Ray.
It will be worth getting yourself a copy of the factory service manual, if you're cunning enough you should be able to find a free pdf download out there in interweb-land.
I had my forks out couple a while back. It is possible to undo the pinch bolts without removing the fairing, but I couldn't find a way to get my torque wrench in there to re-tighten them so ended up removing the front fairing, I'm a bit OCD with anything that is safety critical like that.

I managed to torque up the fork pinch bolts without removing the front cover.

I found that by cutting the socket to a depth the same as the pinch bolt head, I was able to find spaces under there by turning the forks and feeling for a space for the torque wrench head and the cut down socket attached. There was just enough room to move the torque wrench handle back and forth.

Maybe I have a torque wrench with an unusually shallow 'head', but even though it's a bit fiddly, it works.

Loosemarbles that is outrageous, don't you know 10mm sockets are an endangered species?

steve_h80, I know exactly what you mean but I believe the fork pinch bolts are 14mm?

Oh thank goodness for that. I can rest in my bed knowing no 10mm sockets were endangered during this exchange of gibberish 😌

Ray, please keep us updated on your progress with the fork seal work. I assume you now have the benefit of a service manual?
