| As I was preparing to take the Forza out this morning I noticed a screw in the rear tyre. Rather than risk damage or being stranded I rode the short distance to my local motorcycle garage and asked if they'd deal with it. I was due there for something else anyway. As we all know, the screw might not have penetrated all the way through but it had and we agreed it was just as well I'd left removing it to the mechanic as the tyre immediately began to deflate. The upshot is that the repair will be done on Monday; that suits me very well as I have the electric scooter for the weekend. Incidentally. I've ridden 2250 'electric' miles; not all that many in over 18 months but most of my journeys on it are a mere mile or so each way. It was a good buy. |

| It must be the season for it Mike. I got back from the weekend with a nail in the rear of me Tenere, I thought the handling had got a bit squiggly Thank god (or whoever invented them) for tubeless tyres.

| Perhaps the overall lack of rain means that the rubbish is not washed into the gutters, Steve. Sorry you've been punctured, too |

| Punctures are definitely a pain in the arse whenever they occur, and I sympathise with the annoyance and frustration they cause. I'm still not convinced that tubeless repair kits are 100% effective and the supplied gas cylinders can inflate a tyre sufficiently.
I was under the impression from posts on various forums that the use of puncture prevention sealants like PunctureSafe or similar gloop was widespread.
I have Bike-Seal in my Forza's tyres and a tubeless repair kit under the seat, I'm relying more on the effectiveness of the sealant for puncture prevention than the Stop & Go kit which must be at least 10 years old by now.
Hoping you're both back on the road soon. |

| Thank you!
I shall phone the garage at lunchtime tomorrow and hope for the best.
Repairing tyres is something I've tried to avoid for the very reason you say, hoping that the experts will be able to make satisfactory repairs.
I am a fan of PunctureSafe but using it had gone out of my mind; I must order some. I had it in my X9s and Silverwings and apart from the tyre which exploded - no amount of additive could have prevented that - have experienced trouble-free riding. I'll have a look at Bike-Seal, too. |

| Puncture repaired and new GPS bracket fitted so all is well I'm off to my annual College Reunion on the Forza the first weekend in July; it's another 500-mlie round trip so I'm following what's now my usual practice of breaking the journeys at Premier Inns. The weather for that weekend is looking good at the moment. It'll be good to see friends made back in the 60s. |
