Fuel pressure regulator Empty
PostSubject: Fuel pressure regulator   Fuel pressure regulator I_icon_minitimeSat Aug 17, 2019 6:57 pm

Hello folks! My problem is how to safely depressurize the fuel system. I have my new fpr and some new hose. I've searched for and found several methods any tips or tricks from anyone with this repair in the done column?

Just put a rag under regulator and loosen it. Only about 50 psi just don't get any in your face.
Use two new washers and tighten it up. It's not like a lot of fuel it shoots out but some will drain from fuel rail. If regulator is already bad shouldn't be any pressure in there. Clean it up and check for leaks before reassemble.

Thanks for moral support! Great tip on acessing FPR right below the underseat cover. In my case I had almost a full tank of fuel so I drained the tank first. I then removed the fuel pump fuse and started the bike and let it stall (3x). I then carefully loosened the nut (no pressure left in the fuel system) removed the old FPR, replaced the O-ring and installed the new regulator. After refueling I reinserted the fuel pump fuse and restarted the bike. No more rough idle. Thanks
