Hi folks

I have a 2003 Silverwing here in the UK, and it has recently developed a problem with the clock.

Whenever I turn on the ignition, the clock resets itself to one o’clock... it then carries for as long as I’m riding, until I switch off..

And repeat...

Has anyone had this issue? Any ideas please?

Could one the reset/adjustment buttons be stuck or faulty?

Just a thought.....

Weak battery. Have it load tested to confirm.

There have been several posts with similar issues here overtime. Replacing the battery has resolved the problem.

Welcome to the forum.

I consider the clock resetting itself to be an advisory to change the battery ASAP! Works for me.

cant imagine the battery would be able to crank the engine but not power a digital clock , sounds like a display / clock issue unfortunatly.

Buy a chaeap LCD clock and stick it on the current dashboard clock.

The clock is integral to the Combination Meter (speedometer ass'y). That CM costs $400-$500USD, while a new YUASA battery cost ~$125.

So the quick & dirty fix would be to go with Cello's stick-on digital clock which will still work when you find yourself stranded some time soon and post, "Now my scooter cranks but won't start up".

So have the battery load tested and then do a voltage test to insure the charging system is putting out adequate voltage.

Could it be that the battery is not holding a full charge but the clock functions while the scooter is running because the charging system is putting out adequate voltage?
