I have just joined, I have just bought a 2005 Silverwing with 56k miles on it, I am from the uk and this is my second maxi scooter, I am riding a 2005 X9 500 which I will sell as soon as I have fixed the Silverwing, it failed it’s MOT on steering bearings which were very bad. Also the fork seals are seeping so I will do them as well while the forks are off the bike.
The only mods on the bike is a screen.

Welcome solorider-uk,

Sounds like your getting up front & personal with your S'wing from the off.
Sometimes your location may allow other owners to help if you run into problems but this is the place for help

If you need any advise or s/h parts give me a shout, bottom bearing in the frame is a pig to remove you cant knock it out from the top has to be prised out, i use a L shaped bar to do it from the bottom. be a good idea to make sure the front wheel bearings are good as these can fail and trash the wheel

Believe it or not I found the lower race which was original Honda was easy to remove from the top, I used a pry bar and managed to get it to connect and the race came out, the hardest was getting the new taper roller bearing to fit, in the end I had to get a local bike dealer to tap it on, and they struggled as well.

As to Parts I may need a new radiator as mine is missing some of the fins.

freeze the bearings first, use an electric heat gun to warm the tube things go a lot easier.

If its not leaking and does not overheat leave it alone but fabricate a rubber mud flap for it this will stop all the crud from the front wheel blocking up the bottom of the rad, having broken up four only one of them had a clear rad rest were bunged up solid with crap and you cant remove it without it bringing some of the rad fins with it, If it turns out that you have to have one i have a good one
