Anyone familiar with/tried these risers on your Swing?

Or any others?

Three things:

1. Ask your dealer about the dimensions as compared to the stock risers,
or remove the two screws holding your central handlbar plastic on, and
take the dimensions yourself.

2. If you raise the bars too much, you may strain the length of the various
cables that run up your handlebars. It could add great expense to have to
redo the cables for an extra inch or two.

3. Your plastics on your handlebars will increase in height away from the
dashboard changing the look of the bike a bit.

The 25mm ones which are the shortest rise come out to just short of 3 inches and I'd think you would have to replace brake cables at least .
I had 2" risers on my Mean Streak and they made a world of difference in handling especially since the bar was basically a drag bar. Not sure what, if any, improvement they would make on a scooter.

Over on the Yahoo Silver Wing site some have used them and really liked it. For the 25mm risers they didn't have to buy new cables but the plastic cover couldn't be re-installed. But the 25mm is only 1" rise and I'm thinking of getting them too. If you get these tell us how you like them.

I believe the people on the Yahoo site used these risers. They also have a set that raise the bars and pulls them back. I would like to get the ones that pull back. I believe that the persons name that gave the most info was "Whit" on the Yahoo site. You may want to go there and do a search for "Whit" and "risers".

Have you all thought about replaceing the handlebars with a 1" or 1.5" rise over stock. You will not be able to use the Honda covers but it would be a hell of a lot less money.

Dennis,

Please be good enough to provide exact instructions on how to do what you're envisioning, for those of us who are mechanically/spacially limited. It might be a worthwhile mod to consider.

Also, in your considerations, can you imagine a way to pull the bars back toward the driver about an inch or so? This, for me anyway, is probably even more important at this point than a pure rise in the height of the bars.

Many thanks.

Any Custom Bike Shop or welder can make you a set of handlbars.
Just a matter of taking tubing, bending it to your liking, an occasional weld.
And then sending it to a chrome dipper.

I watch them do it every week on American Chopper. HandleBar Risers Icon_sunny

You can almost be sure that someone or custom bike parts catalog has premade 7/8" Dia. handlebars that would work for this application.

This is the way they measure handlebars. 7/8" dia. is what you need.
