whomever you are that designed the S'wings breaking system, I gave them full test today on a ride. Speed 45 / 50 mph, riding covered and scanning I spotted movement out of the corner of my eye, BIG and brown suddenly was right in front of me followed by another close behind, hard on both brakes I heard a tire chirp, a quick move left and made it between both of them. I'm not sure of the pucker rating but all three of us must be a bit tighter.

Being a Sunday, someone was looking over you. LOL. Glad the three of you avoided a collision. You probably would have gotten the worst of the meeting. No moose here in Hawaii. Just cagers. Not sure about Idaho. Ride safe always.

I was on my VT1100Tourer last summer when one of them big brown things crossed from my left across two lanes of busy holiday weekend traffic and snapped the right lexan screen that I had mounted on the engine guard. How it happened was a total blur. Luckily I did not lose control, no other damage to bike or myself. It did hobble away into the woods, so, I assumed it was okay.
I ride with Jesus on my bikes. Thank goodness.
Jay.

I just read in our newspaper that a motorcyclist in Oregon collided with a bear. The bear died but the rider will recover. The didn't mention the condition of the bike.

Ride enough and long enough you will probably have a deer strike. My worst---Switzerland about 1990---Honda CBR500S---deer jumped in front of me, maybe 35mph, going uphill, killed him, centerstand skinned him, no real damage to bike other than blood and lots of green deer spit. Did not go down. Germany had several near misses as well in France along the Rhine, over the years. Northern Wisconsin, you have to watch all the time, they are along the roadsides early morning and near sunset.

I always watch---deer strikes often kill bike rider.

We're starting to see the same problem in th UK. Scotland has too many wild deer leading to many accidents, and the problem is moving south into England.
Deer ain't very clever but have evolved over the millennia to avoid wolves and other large carnivores all of which are extinct over here.
Ride careful out there...
